Verdict: $1,000,000

Greene v. ArcelorMittal Plate, LLC
Verdict: $1,000,000

A pipe fitter severely injured in a steel mill was awarded a $1 million verdict after suffering a fall from a defective ladder. Trial Attorney, George G. Rassias, argued during a week long trial that the ladder violated OSHA regulations.  The defense maintained the ladder complied with all applicable regulations. The jury found the defendant steel mill was liable for the plaintiff's injuries and awarded him $1,000,000.  The verdict appeared in the April 24, 2012 issue of the Legal Intelligencer.  George Rassias has been rated as a SuperLawyer for the years 2010 - 2012 and as a Rising Star for the years 2006 - 2008.

Arbitration Verdict - Delaware is Different

Trial Attorney Lisa M. Grubb received an Arbitration Verdict in the amount $75,000.00 on behalf of a 9 year old girl who struck her toe on a dangerous piece of pipe, which ultimately required 2 surgeries. Ms. Grubb successfully defended against Motions to Dismiss the claim, filed by the attorney for the defendant. The theory was that Delaware laws, designed to protect Homeowners, prevented this lawsuit. There were additional arguments that the child herself caused or contributed to her injuries, and that a "baby-sitter" should have been held responsible rather than the Homeowner.  Ms. Grubb overcame each new theory raised by the defendant, resulting in a Verdict more than DOUBLE the pre-trial "limit" of liability.

"DELAWARE IS DIFFERENT," having different laws and arguments available to insurance companies to deny and defend against Personal Injury lawsuits.  If you have been injured in the State of Delaware, you NEED an attorney who not only "knows" the law, but who is aggressive in fighting for the rights of injured victims, challenging the "establishment" and compassionate for the concerns and issues you may face during such a difficult time.
